Shirlee Glasser Glazer 1921 - 2006

Grandmother Shirlee Glazer passed on Friday, the first night of Hanukkah
My grandparents first met at a Virginia frat party in 1936. Who knew they even had fraternities back then? I take pride that all Glazers can trace their origins to an appropriately festive beginning. Briding the generations and techonologies, here they are vacationing in Bermuda after my Grandfather returned from WWII ('41-'45).
Shirlee Frances Glasser Glazer, 85, died Dec. 15, 2006. Shirlee was a native of the Berkley section of Norfolk. She was born May 16, 1921, to the late Moses and Rachel Salsbury Glasser and was the youngest and last surviving of 10 children. She was an accomplished portrait artist and children’s fashion designer. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dr. Isaac N. Glazer of 62 years. She was the loving mother of Dr. Stanley F. Glazer and wife Candy of Longmeadow, Mass., Barbara Vigor and husband Marc of Canton, Mass., and Harry M. Glazer and wife Cindy of Great Falls, Va.; and adoring grandma to Rachel, Michael, Laura, Adam, Billy, Rebecca, Lauren Rose and Louis Benjamin; and great-grandma to Edgar. - Courtesy of the Virginian-Pilot 12.17.06As you make donations this holiday season - and for tax season - please consider the Alzheimer's Assocation.
