Today is a Headmaster’s Day. Remember that old phenomenon of a day off just because…. what could be better? The announcement yesterday at lunch brought kids to their feet and on top of chairs and a rousing cheer of “We’ve got Widmer” rang through the dining hall. Walking back from lunch spontaneous screams echoed through campus.

Also - last week at school meeting the whole student body rallied together to sing the cheering song for an alumna all the way over in Torino, Italy. Jamie Hagerman ’99 is representing the U.S.A. as part of the Olympic Women’s Hockey Team and we wish her all the best.

The winter continues here in Deerfield although the storm on Sunday only brought two inches. Even though it hasn’t been particularly cold, everyone is looking forward to spring and some green around campus….just another few months!!

I later saw this photo posted of Johnson-Doubleday's Valentine's Feed.
