(Social) Climbing in Machu Picchu
Welcome to 2007.
Suppose you head out to ancient mystical ruins in Peru…what are the odds you will spend New Year's eve backstage downing SKOL beers with grammy winners at a beachfront concert in Brazil attended by over a million people? If you’re the Frumins, its nearly impossible not to have the Black Eyed Peas and John Legend find you.
Jeff Frumin (Houston Prep ’91, Vice President Al Gore ’93, BU ’95, Universal Consulting CEO ‘current),
Steven Frumin (Northeastern ’94, Boston’s “The Roxy” ’03, Universal Consulting ‘current), and Craig Goldstein (BU’95, COO Universal Consulting ‘current) didnt buy strong enough "Scene-Repellant" before heading to South America.
From cloud enveloped mountain tops in Machu Picchu fondling goats and sleeping in mosquito nets…it was inevitable that "the natural order" took over. Fast Forward to Rio de Janeiro.

A reunion began when John Legend (UPenn ’99, Grammy ’06), an old performer at Steven’s Boston hotspot “The Roxy”, climbed aboard the treadmill next to Jeff atop the Sheraton.
Bonus 2007 Factoid:Did you catch that "UPENN" above? John Legend is a magna cum laude graduate of the Ivy League. In the Fall of '98, he even dropped his resume at the career center, and landed with the coat and tie Boston Consulting Group ….all before he added Frumin New Year’s Eve party pal to his resume, among other acclaims.A reunion is planned for Superbowl Weekend (Feb 3-4) in Miami.
