Motorola's 9th Anniversary Party - Kelly Clarkson Performs

The November Motorola party in Hollywood always ranks among the top 3-4 parties of the year. Last night (Thurs 11.8) was no exception. What we learned:

Headliner Kelly Clarkson beat Ryan Starr (American Idol 'season 1)back in 2002 on TV. Last night as Kelly performed for Hollywood's elite, Ryan stood outside on the stairs alone sulkily texting someone and pondering the skinny ends of the bell curve of fame and possibility - ouch.
When you are a pair of E! Personalities, Catt Sadler (The Daily 10) and Michael Yo (Yo on E!) , you get prime dance floor real estate for the night, right next to comrades Debbie Matenopolous (not pictured) and Ananda Lewis (VJ '00).

Ran in to Audrina Patridge (Yorba Linda H.S. (CA) '03, The Hills 'current) who was coming from the People's Choice Award Nominations. She said "Like, who even has a motorola phone?". When I told her that at one time Motorola ruled the world with the StarTAC ('98), she said "Yeah, my publicist said the same thing."

DJ Steve Aoki (Benihana Founder's son '80, UCSB 'late 90s) continues stealing the snickers out of DJ AM's lunchbox, giving a fresh take at every big party in recent memory.

Ian Ziering continues to go out every night. He succeeded in not breaking anything of mine last night.

Awesome Surprise of the Night: Thirsty, hungry, and tipsy, Daddy Motorola bought an IN-N-OUT truck to block everyone's path from party to parking garage. Thank you, David Pinsky .(Motorola entertainment marketing boss)
