The Next Wave of Celebrity Partiers

At the table:  7 of the most influential Hollywood party personalities - those whose job it is to attend events every night, write about them in the gossip media, publicists/event producers who create them, and our favorite select members on everyone’s “list”.

Today's Question:
Who is going to break out on to the party circuit in 2009 and be everywhere all the time?

Jon Warech
(Florida '00, People Magazine '06, OK Magazine 'current)
Robert "Whatshisface" Pattinson, leaves Les Deux in August.
"I have a feeling that Rob 'Whatshisface' from Twilight will be whoring himself on the (nightclub) promo tour once his schedule opens up and all the High School Musical people should drop to B and C list and start showing up at the opening of envelope."

Michelle Marie
(CSU - Fullerton '04, Celeb ReporterYoung Hollywood 'current)
"I definitely think Paris Hilton’s New BFF, Brittany, will become a new socialite running around in the party circuit."

New BFF Brittany with the Hiltons in Aspen for Christmas this week.

Melissa Rappaport
(Michigan '01, Principal Rapparound Public Relations Consulting 'current)
"Miley. Even though she is already quite the public figure, she hasn’t been seen on the party circuit- I think that will change in 2009.  And Daveigh Chase (Big Love) has been sneaking in and out of Apple (lounge) recently, I think the 18 year old is going to start hitting the nightlife scene hard in ’09."

RJ Williams
(Crossroads, USC, Founder/CEO Young Hollywood.com 'current)
The cast of "Twilight"

Rembrandt Flores
(UC Berkley, Managing Partner of Entertainment Fusion Group 'current)
I think we will see a lot more of the 90210 girls. Shenae Grimes, Jessica Stroup, Jessica Lowndes, and Annalynne McCord will be our next Linday's, Nicole's and Paris'es.

Jack Colton

Hmmmm, this is a hard one! That scragly-haired dude that made out with his arm on VH1's The Pick Up Artist was out on Monday.
Of course, his socialite days may be limited as he is kind of a dumbass when it comes to club etiquette. He was checking in for a comped table at Prive and actually had the nuts to yell to his friends "hey, lets finish this bottle really quick and go over for our comp table at CatHouse!" That's a pretty good way to get, eh, eliminated!

11 Celebrities Who Disappeared in 2008

At the table:  7 of the most influential Hollywood party personalities - those whose job it is to attend events every night, write about them in the gossip media, publicists/event producers who create them, and our favorite select members on everyone’s “list”.

Today's Question:
Which celebrities most disappeared from the party scene (appearances, hosting, being seen etc) this year?

Jon Warech
(Florida '00, People Magazine '06, OK Magazine 'current)
Nicole Richie used to be everywhere really and disappeared in ‘08 with motherhood and a lack of a career to promote. Even when she is at an event, she hides and doesn't do interviews. She is like the lost Olsen twin or something, these days. Lohan took a break from the scene too, but I don't think that was by choice.

Michelle Marie
(CSU - Fullerton '04, Celeb ReporterYoung Hollywood 'current)
I think that Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan and Kim Stewart dropped off a bit

Melissa Rappaport
(Michigan '01, Principal Rapparound Public Relations Consulting 'current)
Jack Osbourne, James Blunt, Benjamin McKenzie, Jared Leto, Elisha Cuthbert

RJ Williams
(Crossroads, USC, Founder/CEO Young Hollywood.com 'current)
Tara Reid

Rembrandt Flores
(UC Berkley, Managing Partner of Entertainment Fusion Group 'current)
There are always celebrities who fall off due to rehab, marriage, boyfriends/girlfriends or a change of career. I think I have most noticed that Kim Stewart, Kristin Cavalleri, and Tara Reid the most, since for a time they were at everything.

Jack Colton
(Youngest Member of the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce '01, Las Vegas Socialite and Nightlife columnist'current)
Haven't seen Paris Hilton around as much in the past few months, and Britney Spears hasn't come around since that whole "It's Britney, bitch. I'm getting my life back together" thing that she is doing.

Top 17 Hollywod Parties of 2008

We're back for the 2nd annual "End of Year" party panel.

Who: 7 of the most influential Hollywood party personalities - those whose job it is to attend events every night, write about them in the gossip media, publicists/event producers who create them, and our favorite select members of everyone’s “list”.

Today's Question:
What was the most surprisingly fun entertainment marketing event or party you went to this year?
Michelle Marie
(CSU - Fullerton '04, Celeb ReporterYoung Hollywood 'current)
The most amazing event I went to this year was Donald Trump and Nakheel’s Trump International event, celebrating the new Trump Towers in Dubai. This was held at a private estate in Beverly Hills. Christina Aguilera gave an amazing performance—and the food and décor was insane!

The event brought out stars ranging from Orlando Bloom and Hillary Swank to Hayden Panettiere and Pete Wentz. The best part of the night was that everyone who attended the event (at least 1000 people) walked away with a gift bag that included an IPod Touch!!

Jon Warech
(Florida '00, People Magazine '06, OK Magazine 'current)
If we are staying local I would say the Pre-ESPY Party at the Playboy Mansion, the PUR Jeans Halloween party at STK (pictured below) and the Comedy Central Emmy After Party also at STK were all surprisingly good - but that may have more to do with the crowd and open bar than the stories that came out of it.

Leaving LA, the Justin Timberlake Shriners’ Hospital weekend in Las Vegas and the Victoria's Secret Weekend at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach were both amazing.

Melissa Rappaport
(Michigan '01, Principal Rapparound Public Relations Consulting 'current)
Does the T-Mobile Party at Coachella count? Didn’t know what to expect, but definitely had the best time. Wasn't even supposed to be there. Drove through a desolate scary dark roadway for 20 minutes, drove on to an actual airport runway area, had a pilot oddly welcome me in to a secret pilot's lounge and I thought I was secretly being detained for trespassing or drunkeness and I wasn't either.

I guess it counts as an entertainment marketing event since ALL of Hollywood was there, and we were in VIP. DJ AM, Steve Aoki, and Danny Masterson all spun together.

RJ Williams
(Crossroads, USC, Founder/CEO Young Hollywood.com 'current)
(MTV's) VMA weekend----didn’t think it would be fun considering it was in LA but there ended up being some great events---  Style Villa at Thompson Hotel, Lil Wayne party, Nelly Hooper’s dinner at the Chateau,...
Sitting front row at the In Touch party at Chateau with performances by Leona Lewis and Good Charlotte and then finishing things up at the Tom Tom Club till 4am Tokio Hotel, Akon, Prince etc…..

Rembrandt Flores
(UC Berkley, Managing Partner of Entertainment Fusion Group 'current)
I must admit the Grand Opening of Galpin Auto Sports was one party for the books. I didn’t have any huge expectations but once the party got started, I knew it was going to be a magical night. I mean when do you get a chance to watch Ozzy Osboourne, Dave Navarro, Slash, Billy Morrison, MAcy Gray, Mark McGrath, XZibit, and Cypress Hill sharing one stage!? It was a very intimate space so it was like having a concert of the year in your own living room.

Jack Colton
(Youngest Member of the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce '01, Las Vegas Socialite and Nightlife columnist'current)
This past November, the Hard Rock Hotel hosted a charity event called "Fight Night" that paired at least ten VIP hosts from nightclubs all over Las Vegas for a full on legitimate boxing match. They made The Joint look more like the Grand Garden Arena, complete with trussed lighting hanging over a boxing ring, and actually had all of the fighters register as amateur boxers. It was crazy. The best part was seeing good friends get the living hell knocked out of them. For a good cause, of course!

Jason Kennedy and Flaunt Magazine Share Candles @ Bel Air Mansion

Twas "last call" on the 2008 Hollywood Party Circuit last night (Thurs 18 Dec)
Hundreds braved a depression era experience to get there - a boarded up Robinson's May (parking lot), shuttles, long lines, red sparkly bracelet checks at every step, and cold dark hikes through miles of Holmby Hills (same 'nook as the playboy mansion) to make a double birthday party -  E! personality Jason Kennedy's and Flaunt Magazine's 10th in a mega mansion. Payoff?

Being Vinnie Chase's Guest
Lots and lots and lots of girls.
Lots and lots and lots of free drinks.
Lots and lots and lots of house.
Also hiking: Kanye in a clownzilla bowtie, a duo of Kardashian sisters, and lots of people not afraid to ask Tonight's Most Popular Person in the Room TM Kelly Osbourne to take photos with them. "Who does that at a Flaunt party?!", gagged Rappa.

Like the end of final exams, all will now disperse to warmer (Miami), colder (Aspen) or glitterier(Vegas) until 2009.

Truth for the Holidays? The Rat Pack Ball @ Les Deux

Stereotypically, the two most dishonest things in Hollywood are talent managers and party invites. One man and his party controverted them both at Les Deux on a busy, busy Saturday night (Dec 13).
For the annual big band karaoke sing along, the birthday boy (right) recreates the scene from the invite above - truth in party advertising confirmed!

The Third Annual "Rat Pack Ball" had young hollywood celebrating the joint birthdays of Frank Sinatra and talent manager Phil Viardo, and it was just nice to be invited cause we're usually on the wrong end of the list for the rare black tie event.
Our field reporter saw these famous faces singing along -- celebrity guests Adrianne Curry(West Joliet H.S. - IL '00, America's 1st Next Top Model '03), Christopher Knight (Culver City H.S. - CA '76, Peter Brady '70s), Roger Cross (Trinity Western U. '88), Natalia Guslistaya (Rules '09), Dorian Brown (ABC Family's "Roommates"), that guy from Real Housewives of OC Slade Smiley, and actress Alexandra Leighton and alot of others we can't recognize when they are dressed up, but "hey...by this time of night you're allowed to be drunk and forget a few" (argues guest reporter Pepper) [Ed Note: You're fired].

Teddy Bears and Marines on VIP List @ Here Lounge

When a tipster texted in Lauren Conrad (Laguna H.S.-CA'04, FIDM '?) shopping at Urban Outfitters on Melrose Saturday afternoon, he didnt tell us she was trying on a teddy bear.
The bear ate too many of the abundant Dove Chocolates to fit in the box.

"Not your average gay" Woody Woodbeck (Life & Style Mag 'current) moved his annual NYC soiree to Hollywood for the first time. A localite/socialite/industry crowd  of gays/straights/ Lauren Conrads - and field reporter Pepper - attended the "It's a Woody Christmas" benefit at Here Lounge in West Hollywood Saturday night (13 Dec).

Pepper filtered this report through peppermint schnapps fueled memories:
Right ahead of me, Lauren Conrad (above, with the host) arrived with a friend . She took photos with a charity Marine and dropped off a toy she brought herself to donate to Toys for Tots. (A cuddly teddy bear). She spent most of her time talking with Woody in a VIP type cabana. Nick (Verreos) from Project Runway was there too. (I think I once saw him on The Hills as a guest professor at FIDM during one of those 80 seconds she was actually in school).

One thing that caught my eye was Lauren's clique thumbing through a Jonas Brothers magazine and laughing. They didn't seem drunk, so it looked like some inside joke not meant for those without cabana, unlimited sponsored Patron, or a fashion black card.

Pepper spilled shots on her camera, so photos Courtesy:BrianPix

Jamie Foxx's Birthday Bromance with Diddy @ TAO

When it's your birthday, you need candlelight on your (two) cake(s), and flash lights in your hand to point out hot girls to your shades wearing buddy, Diddy

The party from center dance floor table 45 at Tao Las Vegas last night. (Sat 13 Dec)

Back, Back, Back for Raving Rabbids @ Apple Lounge

Of the many catch phrases E!'s "The Soup" host Joel McHale (Mercer Island H.S. - WA '90, Univ. of Washington '95) has coined, the one that came to mind here was his weekly rant on fellow E! star Kim Kardashian.
He never says her name alone. Always "Kim Kardashian who is known for having a big ass and a sex tape...". The Kardashian trio hosted Ubisoft's game launch party for "Raving Rabbids" in a secret back compartment of Apple Lounge last night (Tue 9 Dec).

Similar to Dance Dance Revolution, you compete against three other players to pull off dance moves with the Nintendo wii-motes. One snicker inducing move mandates you to smack your own ass. Which made the quote topical.
And to that end....in a bit of genius stunt casting pr, we saw Vida Guerra (Cuba '74, FHM's Sexiest Females'05) also test drive the game on its release day. For the all of us who don't read DUB magazine, you might not know that she is famous for only one of the two things that Kim is.
EFG's Angela Jones (Star Magazine '06, pictured left) won our publicists' intramural game.
Is your butt too small to target it quickly while playing? Luckily there was a surprising buffet of full pizzas and other non Hollywood-esque carbs so you could quickly bulk up your... game play.
Thanks for EFG and Getty/Film Magic for the pixels.

GM Ten Party Gone

While Vanity Fair and Elton John dominate Oscar night, the annual General Motors Fashion Show where celebrities walk the runway with cars - "GM TEN" ('02-06)  - has the most gravity during the preceeding Oscar Week.

Eva Longoria, Jamie Foxx, Lindsay Lohan, and Mary J. Blige (pictured) have walked as part of the 10 annual models in in previous years, but don't expect this heavyweight party to return this year.
Might have something to do with the guy on the left in the picture above: He is the CEO of GM. In this photo, he is asking Congress for your life savings. So how 'bout that awesome party? "The optics don't look good", it is being said. Where you at 944?

The Social Climbing Manual (Las Vegas Edition)

From right now until the day after Christmas is Las Vegas' annual "dead season" - their quietest time of the year. So if you were already thinking of calling in sick/drunk to the probably canceled office Christmas party, now is the time.
Our friend Jack Colton (Norman H.S. - OK '00) covers the Vegas nightlife industry and has helpfully profiled the top 20 industry personalities. This is mandatory stalker study material before your next trip. They are conveniently ranked by the number of contacts in their blackberry. Tis the season to Facebook 'em, see if you can fool them in to thinking they know you, and hook yourself up.
Would you be surprised to know that the strip club VIP host guy dwarfs even the most popular nightclub concierge? (over 20,000).
