About Last Night

Welcome to 2009. Glad you're alive, sober, and here.
We promised Prive Las Vegas would be the weirdest pairing on New Year's.
At least our favorite space in the country hired the quirky Denise Richards and Lance Bass "co-host couple".
Adding to the odd cocktail, Run DMC's DMC honoring his musical soulmates -- Guns N' Roses, ....while DJ'ing (something he is not known to do ever).

As a resolution, will link more. So enjoy a better quick-recap of celeb events coast to coast from friend Mark Malkin over at E!.
Sleep it off, kids.

The Next Wave of Celebrity Partiers

At the table:  7 of the most influential Hollywood party personalities - those whose job it is to attend events every night, write about them in the gossip media, publicists/event producers who create them, and our favorite select members on everyone’s “list”.

Today's Question:
Who is going to break out on to the party circuit in 2009 and be everywhere all the time?

Jon Warech
(Florida '00, People Magazine '06, OK Magazine 'current)
Robert "Whatshisface" Pattinson, leaves Les Deux in August.
"I have a feeling that Rob 'Whatshisface' from Twilight will be whoring himself on the (nightclub) promo tour once his schedule opens up and all the High School Musical people should drop to B and C list and start showing up at the opening of envelope."

Michelle Marie
(CSU - Fullerton '04, Celeb ReporterYoung Hollywood 'current)
"I definitely think Paris Hilton’s New BFF, Brittany, will become a new socialite running around in the party circuit."

New BFF Brittany with the Hiltons in Aspen for Christmas this week.

Melissa Rappaport
(Michigan '01, Principal Rapparound Public Relations Consulting 'current)
"Miley. Even though she is already quite the public figure, she hasn’t been seen on the party circuit- I think that will change in 2009.  And Daveigh Chase (Big Love) has been sneaking in and out of Apple (lounge) recently, I think the 18 year old is going to start hitting the nightlife scene hard in ’09."

RJ Williams
(Crossroads, USC, Founder/CEO Young Hollywood.com 'current)
The cast of "Twilight"

Rembrandt Flores
(UC Berkley, Managing Partner of Entertainment Fusion Group 'current)
I think we will see a lot more of the 90210 girls. Shenae Grimes, Jessica Stroup, Jessica Lowndes, and Annalynne McCord will be our next Linday's, Nicole's and Paris'es.

Jack Colton
(Youngest Member of the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce '01, Las Vegas Socialite and Nightlife columnist'current)
Hmmmm, this is a hard one! That scragly-haired dude that made out with his arm on VH1's The Pick Up Artist was out on Monday.
Of course, his socialite days may be limited as he is kind of a dumbass when it comes to club etiquette. He was checking in for a comped table at Prive and actually had the nuts to yell to his friends "hey, lets finish this bottle really quick and go over for our comp table at CatHouse!" That's a pretty good way to get, eh, eliminated!

11 Celebrities Who Disappeared in 2008

At the table:  7 of the most influential Hollywood party personalities - those whose job it is to attend events every night, write about them in the gossip media, publicists/event producers who create them, and our favorite select members on everyone’s “list”.

Today's Question:
Which celebrities most disappeared from the party scene (appearances, hosting, being seen etc) this year?

Jon Warech
(Florida '00, People Magazine '06, OK Magazine 'current)
Nicole Richie used to be everywhere really and disappeared in ‘08 with motherhood and a lack of a career to promote. Even when she is at an event, she hides and doesn't do interviews. She is like the lost Olsen twin or something, these days. Lohan took a break from the scene too, but I don't think that was by choice.

Michelle Marie
(CSU - Fullerton '04, Celeb ReporterYoung Hollywood 'current)
I think that Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan and Kim Stewart dropped off a bit

Melissa Rappaport
(Michigan '01, Principal Rapparound Public Relations Consulting 'current)
Jack Osbourne, James Blunt, Benjamin McKenzie, Jared Leto, Elisha Cuthbert

RJ Williams
(Crossroads, USC, Founder/CEO Young Hollywood.com 'current)
Tara Reid

Rembrandt Flores
(UC Berkley, Managing Partner of Entertainment Fusion Group 'current)
There are always celebrities who fall off due to rehab, marriage, boyfriends/girlfriends or a change of career. I think I have most noticed that Kim Stewart, Kristin Cavalleri, and Tara Reid the most, since for a time they were at everything.

Jack Colton
(Youngest Member of the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce '01, Las Vegas Socialite and Nightlife columnist'current)
Haven't seen Paris Hilton around as much in the past few months, and Britney Spears hasn't come around since that whole "It's Britney, bitch. I'm getting my life back together" thing that she is doing.

Top 17 Hollywod Parties of 2008

We're back for the 2nd annual "End of Year" party panel.

Who: 7 of the most influential Hollywood party personalities - those whose job it is to attend events every night, write about them in the gossip media, publicists/event producers who create them, and our favorite select members of everyone’s “list”.

Today's Question:
What was the most surprisingly fun entertainment marketing event or party you went to this year?
Michelle Marie
(CSU - Fullerton '04, Celeb ReporterYoung Hollywood 'current)
The most amazing event I went to this year was Donald Trump and Nakheel’s Trump International event, celebrating the new Trump Towers in Dubai. This was held at a private estate in Beverly Hills. Christina Aguilera gave an amazing performance—and the food and décor was insane!

The event brought out stars ranging from Orlando Bloom and Hillary Swank to Hayden Panettiere and Pete Wentz. The best part of the night was that everyone who attended the event (at least 1000 people) walked away with a gift bag that included an IPod Touch!!

Jon Warech
(Florida '00, People Magazine '06, OK Magazine 'current)
If we are staying local I would say the Pre-ESPY Party at the Playboy Mansion, the PUR Jeans Halloween party at STK (pictured below) and the Comedy Central Emmy After Party also at STK were all surprisingly good - but that may have more to do with the crowd and open bar than the stories that came out of it.

Leaving LA, the Justin Timberlake Shriners’ Hospital weekend in Las Vegas and the Victoria's Secret Weekend at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach were both amazing.

Melissa Rappaport
(Michigan '01, Principal Rapparound Public Relations Consulting 'current)
Does the T-Mobile Party at Coachella count? Didn’t know what to expect, but definitely had the best time. Wasn't even supposed to be there. Drove through a desolate scary dark roadway for 20 minutes, drove on to an actual airport runway area, had a pilot oddly welcome me in to a secret pilot's lounge and I thought I was secretly being detained for trespassing or drunkeness and I wasn't either.

I guess it counts as an entertainment marketing event since ALL of Hollywood was there, and we were in VIP. DJ AM, Steve Aoki, and Danny Masterson all spun together.

RJ Williams
(Crossroads, USC, Founder/CEO Young Hollywood.com 'current)
(MTV's) VMA weekend----didn’t think it would be fun considering it was in LA but there ended up being some great events---  Style Villa at Thompson Hotel, Lil Wayne party, Nelly Hooper’s dinner at the Chateau,...
Sitting front row at the In Touch party at Chateau with performances by Leona Lewis and Good Charlotte and then finishing things up at the Tom Tom Club till 4am Tokio Hotel, Akon, Prince etc…..

Rembrandt Flores
(UC Berkley, Managing Partner of Entertainment Fusion Group 'current)
I must admit the Grand Opening of Galpin Auto Sports was one party for the books. I didn’t have any huge expectations but once the party got started, I knew it was going to be a magical night. I mean when do you get a chance to watch Ozzy Osboourne, Dave Navarro, Slash, Billy Morrison, MAcy Gray, Mark McGrath, XZibit, and Cypress Hill sharing one stage!? It was a very intimate space so it was like having a concert of the year in your own living room.

Jack Colton
(Youngest Member of the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce '01, Las Vegas Socialite and Nightlife columnist'current)
This past November, the Hard Rock Hotel hosted a charity event called "Fight Night" that paired at least ten VIP hosts from nightclubs all over Las Vegas for a full on legitimate boxing match. They made The Joint look more like the Grand Garden Arena, complete with trussed lighting hanging over a boxing ring, and actually had all of the fighters register as amateur boxers. It was crazy. The best part was seeing good friends get the living hell knocked out of them. For a good cause, of course!

Keep up with the Party Panel in 2009

Jason Kennedy and Flaunt Magazine Share Candles @ Bel Air Mansion

Twas "last call" on the 2008 Hollywood Party Circuit last night (Thurs 18 Dec)
Hundreds braved a depression era experience to get there - a boarded up Robinson's May (parking lot), shuttles, long lines, red sparkly bracelet checks at every step, and cold dark hikes through miles of Holmby Hills (same 'nook as the playboy mansion) to make a double birthday party -  E! personality Jason Kennedy's and Flaunt Magazine's 10th in a mega mansion. Payoff?

Being Vinnie Chase's Guest
Lots and lots and lots of girls.
Lots and lots and lots of free drinks.
Lots and lots and lots of house.
Also hiking: Kanye in a clownzilla bowtie, a duo of Kardashian sisters, and lots of people not afraid to ask Tonight's Most Popular Person in the Room TM Kelly Osbourne to take photos with them. "Who does that at a Flaunt party?!", gagged Rappa.

Like the end of final exams, all will now disperse to warmer (Miami), colder (Aspen) or glitterier(Vegas) until 2009.

Truth for the Holidays? The Rat Pack Ball @ Les Deux

Stereotypically, the two most dishonest things in Hollywood are talent managers and party invites. One man and his party controverted them both at Les Deux on a busy, busy Saturday night (Dec 13).
For the annual big band karaoke sing along, the birthday boy (right) recreates the scene from the invite above - truth in party advertising confirmed!

The Third Annual "Rat Pack Ball" had young hollywood celebrating the joint birthdays of Frank Sinatra and talent manager Phil Viardo, and it was just nice to be invited cause we're usually on the wrong end of the list for the rare black tie event.
Our field reporter saw these famous faces singing along -- celebrity guests Adrianne Curry(West Joliet H.S. - IL '00, America's 1st Next Top Model '03), Christopher Knight (Culver City H.S. - CA '76, Peter Brady '70s), Roger Cross (Trinity Western U. '88), Natalia Guslistaya (Rules '09), Dorian Brown (ABC Family's "Roommates"), that guy from Real Housewives of OC Slade Smiley, and actress Alexandra Leighton and alot of others we can't recognize when they are dressed up, but "hey...by this time of night you're allowed to be drunk and forget a few" (argues guest reporter Pepper) [Ed Note: You're fired].

Teddy Bears and Marines on VIP List @ Here Lounge

When a tipster texted in Lauren Conrad (Laguna H.S.-CA'04, FIDM '?) shopping at Urban Outfitters on Melrose Saturday afternoon, he didnt tell us she was trying on a teddy bear.
The bear ate too many of the abundant Dove Chocolates to fit in the box.

"Not your average gay" Woody Woodbeck (Life & Style Mag 'current) moved his annual NYC soiree to Hollywood for the first time. A localite/socialite/industry crowd  of gays/straights/ Lauren Conrads - and field reporter Pepper - attended the "It's a Woody Christmas" benefit at Here Lounge in West Hollywood Saturday night (13 Dec).

Pepper filtered this report through peppermint schnapps fueled memories:
Right ahead of me, Lauren Conrad (above, with the host) arrived with a friend . She took photos with a charity Marine and dropped off a toy she brought herself to donate to Toys for Tots. (A cuddly teddy bear). She spent most of her time talking with Woody in a VIP type cabana. Nick (Verreos) from Project Runway was there too. (I think I once saw him on The Hills as a guest professor at FIDM during one of those 80 seconds she was actually in school).

One thing that caught my eye was Lauren's clique thumbing through a Jonas Brothers magazine and laughing. They didn't seem drunk, so it looked like some inside joke not meant for those without cabana, unlimited sponsored Patron, or a fashion black card.

Pepper spilled shots on her camera, so photos Courtesy:BrianPix

Back, Back, Back for Raving Rabbids @ Apple Lounge

Of the many catch phrases E!'s "The Soup" host Joel McHale (Mercer Island H.S. - WA '90, Univ. of Washington '95) has coined, the one that came to mind here was his weekly rant on fellow E! star Kim Kardashian.
He never says her name alone. Always "Kim Kardashian who is known for having a big ass and a sex tape...". The Kardashian trio hosted Ubisoft's game launch party for "Raving Rabbids" in a secret back compartment of Apple Lounge last night (Tue 9 Dec).

Similar to Dance Dance Revolution, you compete against three other players to pull off dance moves with the Nintendo wii-motes. One snicker inducing move mandates you to smack your own ass. Which made the quote topical.
And to that end....in a bit of genius stunt casting pr, we saw Vida Guerra (Cuba '74, FHM's Sexiest Females'05) also test drive the game on its release day. For the all of us who don't read DUB magazine, you might not know that she is famous for only one of the two things that Kim is.
EFG's Angela Jones (Star Magazine '06, pictured left) won our publicists' intramural game.
Is your butt too small to target it quickly while playing? Luckily there was a surprising buffet of full pizzas and other non Hollywood-esque carbs so you could quickly bulk up your... game play.
Thanks for EFG and Getty/Film Magic for the pixels.

GM Ten Party Gone

While Vanity Fair and Elton John dominate Oscar night, the annual General Motors Fashion Show where celebrities walk the runway with cars - "GM TEN" ('02-06)  - has the most gravity during the preceeding Oscar Week.

Eva Longoria, Jamie Foxx, Lindsay Lohan, and Mary J. Blige (pictured) have walked as part of the 10 annual models in in previous years, but don't expect this heavyweight party to return this year.
Might have something to do with the guy on the left in the picture above: He is the CEO of GM. In this photo, he is asking Congress for your life savings. So how 'bout that awesome party? "The optics don't look good", it is being said. Where you at 944?

The Jayneoni Moore Children’s Fund and Baskin Robbins created a celebrity version of Santa's Workshop at in Brentwood last night for “Wrapped with a Bow. A Select Group Gathered at Giggles ‘N Hugs to wrap presents to be distributed to LA Area Foster Children.
It was a virtual celebrity Santa’s Workshop as giant Warren Sapp, (Apopka H.S. - FL '91,  Superbwol Champ '03) needed help to wrap a ball other than a pigskin – a basketball. Child star Bobbe’J (“Role Models”, “30 Rock”) joined him to tag team on wrapping the basketball.

The co-stars of Debra Messings’ current feature and TV projects compared notes over presents on how much they enjoyed working with her. James Black (“The Starter Wife”) and Melonie Diaz (“Nothing Like The Holidays”)
Girls Night Out: Ali Landry (Cecilia H.S. - LA '91, Miss USA '96, left), Kellie Martin (ER '98, Yale '01, stepped away) and host Melissa Joan Hart (St. Anthony's H.S. - NY '94, right)  showed up together, wrapped presents for 90 minutes together, and made plans to go out together afterwards. 11.26.2008 TAO 8th Anniversary

Jeremy Piven (Evanston Township -IL H.S. '83) celebrated a milestone this week. Not thanksgiving, or his Bat Mitzvah (pictured).
Our NYC reporter Carter, spotted him at the TAO 8th Anniversary Party the night before Thanksgiving (Wed 26 Nov).
Wait, didn't Piven also fly all the way to the Vegas outlet's 1st anniversary party? And go back again for the 2nd anniversary? Truly half man, half mascot.
Although it was only the night before Thanksgiving, you are excused for thinking it was Christmas Eve with an exclusively jewish celebrity turnout at the perennial NYC hotspot - New overlord(lady) of ballroom dancing Brooke Burke (Palo Verde H.S. - AZ '89, UCLA '93, Wild On '99) and Marcus Schenkenberg (Calvin Klein '90s, Pam Anderson '98) helped make the minion.
We'd post the photos of the Manishevitz Sake Bombs , but Carter has not woken up from the food coma yet. So here's a the ownership group laughing over a cake in a photo that Santa brought us as a gift from someone else's site the North Pole.

Breaking: Vanity Fair Oscar Party Moves in Next Door

The Vanity Fair Oscar Party (1992-2007, 2009-?) is moving in right next door to TheCHIMP.net world headquarters, at the Sunset Tower Hotel.
The most exclusive and high profile American party of the year will light up our block after the Oscars on Sunday night, February 22, 2009.

To this humble cul-de-sac on the information superhighway, this is the equivalent of the Superbowl relocating to play inside the Sports Illustrated hedaquarters.

Live on Scene: YRB Magazine Party @ Smashbox

YRB Magazine gets Khloe Kardashian to play public ping pong.....and more items from guest party snitch Leigh at Smashbox Studios last night. (Thur 20 Nov)
For the avoidance of doubt, this is a different "that black guy".
"Biggest Celeb there was Khloe Kardashian. I didn't see her but [Redacted] told me. Michelle Pesce DJ'ed. She's awesome. Also saw the Miz (Miami Univ '02, WWE Wrestling Champion '07) some idol reject, and the same black guy who gave me his card at aHaylie Duff event last week and said 'google me'. "
Is it a waste of time to report that the famous for one day Miss USA who got booed by the Mexican audience at the Miss Universe pageant and then fell on her ass as an encore was there? She was. Rachel Smith (Crazy Christians' Belmont Univ '02, Miss USA '07).
You also probably didn't know that YRB = Yellow Rat Bastard

High Fives to Kelly K., for taking care of us.

5 Reasons for The Incredibly Shrinking Sundance

5 Reasons why January's Sundance Film Festival may look like its own stepchild. , Slamdance.
1. This inspirational hopey guy is being inaugurated in Washington, DC with celebs and cool kids on the same party weekend. Now he's even drawing the cool away from the snow?!
2. Corporate cocktail sponsorship money is was on fire. It's gone.

3. Nightlife Kingpins Noah Tepperberg (U Miami '97) and Jason Strauss (St. David's - NYC '89, BU '97) are not porting their "internationally known celebrity driven" clubs Marquee and Tao (Most Profitable Restaurant in the Country '07) to Park City at Harry O's again.

4. Two paparazzi magnets at the bottom of Main St. won't be back. The Town Lift Celebrity Gifting center is now an official part of the Festival (means civilians, not swag). But Kari Feinstein's Style Lounge is back.
5. Old: FU-tah for your shitty drinking laws. Now: FU-tah with a Huge Gay Boycott expected as Prop 8 Payback.

So, anyone got a hotel room in DC?

Super Sisters for Supermodels Mag

Always fun to catch up with Haylie Duff (Don't Vote for Pedro '04). She hosted the Supermodels Unlimtied Magazine Hot Hollywood Party at Social (remember that place?) on Wednesday night (12 Nov).

Building on previous covergirl Ali Lohan, the "must have a stellar sister qualification" to front the magazine remains in effect. (A girl who's brother dated Lauren on The Hills for 2.5 episodes lurked outside on the carpet).
Inside Debbie Deborah Gibson (Sanford Calhoun H.S. - NY '87) didn't need the quickly revoked open bar vodka to start enjoying her guest's company before even entering the ballroom.
Regrets Only? Front Row Fashion No-Shows Audrina and Jillian.
How dumb are the paparazzi? The sidewalk stalkers outside this party needed a chicken scratched "tip sheet" on what to ask - "J. Lo wants another baby", "Paula Abdul Stalker OD Suicide", and "something about Jennifer Anniston" were the "must ask questions.
This band - The Last Goodnight - stole Maroon 5's soundguy and stylists while Adam Levine was on vacation. Totally didn't suck.

High Fives to BR and Entertainment Marketing Company.

Elvis' First Girlfriend is Brody's Mom?

Hostess Ms. Michelle Vink (House of An 'current, Look to the Stars.org 'current) and the multi-credited Linda Thompson model Thompson's column on "Being a gentleman in Hollywood" in this month's LA Confidential Magazine.

The gentlemanly thing to do at the Lift MD spa open house on Wednesday (12 Nov) was to introduce yourself to Linda Thompson (Miss Tennessee '72, Elvis' Domestic Partner at Graceland '72-76, Brody Jenner's Mom '83, Academy Award/Grammy Nominee '90, Mrs. David Foster '03)

Brody's "hot mom" has not shared the article with her son, who is mocked in frequent TV ads for AT&T for "being a pig" while lunching with sometimes girlfirend Lauren Conrad (Laguna H.S. - CA'04).

Live on Scene: Olsen Twins Draw Creepy Old Readers to Westwood

A Chimp.net operative sends this live blackberry report from the Boardner's bookstore in Westwood:
At the Olsen Twins Book signing thing. Rules are as expected: "no photos, no personalized autographs, no staring directly at the Olsens." Ok i made the last one up. The line is pretty small. 100 tops. But there was a vip group first i think, so that's a few more. Crowd is on on mix of kids, gays and child molesters.
Funniest moment: a group of people w autographs walked down and one teenage girl waiting goes "how come no one is crying?" About to go up. Will keep you posted.
22 Minutes Later:
So upstairs there were more people. The two guys in front of us had roses but a guy took them just before they got to the table. I was going to ask them to make it out to "Heath" but I chickened out. Plus, as they said, "no personalized autographs". They were nice and pretty hot, I think.Their signatures are just scribbles though. It's like they've stuck to the same signatures since they were onFull House for authenticity purposes. There were PETA prosters outsie with "trollsen" signs but I'm on Team Olsen.

Kim Kardashian Make-A-Wish Miami

A Miami Beach tipster sends in this report:
Kim Kardashian (E! 'current)hosted the South Florida Make-A-Wish Ball at the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami on Saturday (8 Nov). While encouraging bidders to pony up for luxuries like a 2009 Aston Martin, she had a harder time drumming up support for the chance to sit with her in a suite at a future New Orleans Saints game - her BF Reggie Bush plays there.

Sometimes stories can be distorted, we’ll report this out of context quote verbatim:
Kim: “Come on, come sit in my box, it will be fun!!” Kim then sold the clothes off her back– putting up her Catharine Malandrino dress.
Other Things We Couldn’t Have Afforded to Bid On:
· A walk on role on Entourage [Courtesy of the night’s bandleader Adrien Grenier (La Guardia H.S. – NY ’94, Smoke Jumpers ’09)]
· A party for 500 people at South Beach’s enduringly popular Mansion
The philanthropists raised $1,550,000 in one night, enough to grant wishes for 3-400 kids, or pick up the tab for that party at Mansion.
Congrats to the Make a Wish Mafia: C.M., Shareef Malnik, and Michael Capponi.

Attention Hollywood Marketing Machine: The biggest coming attraction in Park City this January is "A Schedule Conflict".
You see Hopey's presidential inauguration, and its surrounding festivities, falls on the same big opening weekend of Sundance and its parties, gifting suites, and concerts.

The smart money (whatever is left of it) is predicting "Sundance on the Potomac" this January.

Has the Sundance swagfest clusterf*ck doomsday clock just moved a few minutes closer to midnight?

Live on Scene: Double Hollywood Birthdays @ Stone Rose Lounge

Hosting is fun, but going to someone else's event makes us thirstier for some reason.

In general, it's not a party until Young Hollywood shows up to cover, so we were eager for the meta-tasticness of YH's own Michelle Marie's co-birthday with writer/director Brett Gursky (East Brunswick H.S. - NJ '98, Syracuse '02) on Wednesday night (5 Nov).
Meta Alert #1: Birthday girl Michelle Marie (CSU-Fullerton '04, Purple English Cientele Dress) surrounded by assistant candle blowers.
Meta Alert #2: The party based website covering their own party. [That's Brian Drolet (The Hills 'season 1) doing mic duty.]
Rapper K.O. The Legend showed performance prowess with 'text message speak' while performing hit (..?) "She Wants 2 Get it" in the VIP area of Rande Gerber's lounge/bar.
Lauren Bergfeld (Texas State '04, Beauty & The Geek '05) ensures entry in to future parties from promoter Michael Bellisario (JAG '05, Foxtail '08).

Even though it was a party for men’s clothing, Tila Tequila stuck to women all night, showing up with two girlfriends.

Adam Gregory made his hosting event a family affair, spending the evening at Fred Segal Fun with his mother and brother, Scott, who just returned from Iraq on a boat in to San Diego from deployment with the US Navy 2 days ago.

Jon Kelley (The Mole'08, Extra 'current) showing up early and showing off an Obama T-Shirt, one of 8 celebrities to sport victory gear the day after.

Holly Montag arrives fashionably late, in a plaid jacket and skinny leg jeans, to the Company 81 launch party at Fred Segal Fun, 10 minutes before crew starting ripping out the lights.

Superhero Skybar Halloween @ Mondrian

The Mondrian went "superhero" for its biggest party of the year, Halloween (Fri 31 Oct). The annual bash covers the pool, has flying acrobats, tons of vodka, only one Sarah Palin and three fake VIP hosts.
Skybar's Julie Berry (Survivor Vanuatu '04, Host Jeff Probst's girfried '04-08) and a "pregnant" coworker. Costume Award: Overweight wandering latina woman who sells individual roses on Sunset to disinterested bar goers.
I pretended to mistake this guy for Andy Dick repeatedly and give him fake VIP wristbands and try to lead him to a fake non - existent table when he went with it.
Celeb Costume Rundown: Dave Annable (SUNY Plattsburgh '01, Brother's and Sisters'current) as theOriginal Karate Kid. James Van Der Beek (Cheshire Acadmey '95, Capeside High '01) as a red headed Johnny Rotten something. Weaksauce.

No Scooping the Hosts

The People Magazine of the internet, Hollyscoop (UC Santa Barabara 'various),threw a pre-Halloween Media Mixer to celebrate on the roof of their new Hollywood digs last night. (Thurs 30 October).
We'd tell you who was there and what happened but its bad taste to 'scoop the hosts. And getting a placement here has always made everyone happy. So enjoy this party shot instead.

Best Buy Rocks Out with New Guitar Hero World Tour -- Mega Party

From the first noise complaint punctuated champagne sunrise a few years ago, we've always been faithful to Guitar Hero, cheating with Rock Band only because it fit the party setting better. No longer.
The Guitar Hero World Tour Launch Party rocked in 2 massive sound stages next to the West Hollywood Best Buy late in to the early morning today. (Sat-Sun 25/26 Oct).
Just in time for Halloween, the Smashing Pumpkins emerged for a full concert at the party. Female bassist Ginger Reyes (UCLA '98-00) broke out her costume a week early, dressing as that pixie pig-tailed character from the actual game. Very cool.

Too busy rocking out with random new band-mate friends on an obscene number of personal sound stages to spy on the celebs in attendance. Can't tell you how well Mischa Barton (Professional Children's School -NY '04), Dean McDermott (Tori & Dean '07), or the recently stitched up Zac Levi (Chuck 'current) played, because I can tell you precisely about the sick new songs. (Living on a Prayer - Bon Jovi, Eye of the Tiger, and Sweet Home Alabama to name a few).
Cooler drumset, two guitars, and a new mic stand. Neighbors, you have been warned. This is going to get rowdy.
Every rockstar needs wardrobe - we're getting ours from sneaker legends Creative Recreation, who were gifting cool kids.
High five to BR & Entertainment Marketing Company on a great event, thanks.

E! Channel Social Club Holds Meeting @ Winston's

Madonna and Guy Ritchie, now Hyla and Michael Yo - cohosts on the E! Channel another pair ending their run.

We celebrated with show host Hyla on his birthday eve at the surprisingly resurgent Winston's last night (Friday 24 Oct).

With an upside down smile, we've learned that The Yo on E! daily satellite radio show about pop culture, celebrities, and gossip is ending the day after the election, November 5.

Are you sure monopolies don't reduce consumer choice? Aired on Sirius and XM, the whole E! Radio Channel is actually going away.

Well documented man about town celebrities Ben Lyons (At the Movies 'current) huddled in the birthday corner booth near/with Jamie Lynn Sigler (Meadow Soprano '97, Jericho H.S. - NY '99).

She kept putting her face in to my photos like a frat boy. So annoying.

DJ Mr. Best, undeserved low profile, big thumbs up.

Maroon 5 Breeder's Cup Party

Live on Scene: Adam Levine (Brentwood School '97 - CA) yells at the republican national convention imitation crowd to "wake up"!! But this is the 25th Breeder's Cup kick off party.
The crowd is overwhelmingly male, white, top hat wearing, 40+ and doesn't know who he is.
Jack Osbourne (original MTV Celebrealtiy '02) , Borat's Naked Wrestling partner, and various celebs like Nicole Richie are here at the new palladium. By my eye, she is not drinking the unlimited Grey Goose. (Thurs 1140 PM)

Upclose photography by RL, thanks.

Justin Timberlake After Party @ Prive in Las Vegas

OMG OMG OMG, there are celebs over there.

After the show that pulled in better performances than the Grammys ever does, it was up to the Planet Hollywood second floor to reach the Vegas outpost of classic Miami hotspot Prive for Justin Timberlake's after party.
He will always be remembered for Eminem's taunt, "Chris Kirkpatrick, you can get your ass kicked....", but he didnt do much to contradict that wussy pr profile by sporting bright yellow ear plugs in the club. JT is at his side. The ubiquitous Robin Leach lurked to the far left. (click to enlarge photo)
will.I.am (Emmy Winner '08) DJ'd, while Black Eyed Pea-mate Apl.de.ap (Curie H.S. -IL '93) watched his back.

My new favorite thing inthe whole world is the best table in all of Vegas - "Table 69" a VIP table in the kitchen of the club. Despite the unfortunate name, not having it in the future would be like getting sent back to coach from first class.
Imagine a dressing room within the club, and an amazing spot to actually talk and hang with friends inbetween sojourns out in to the madness through that black door on the right.
The neighboring strip poll has its own press wall. Thats more vegas than vegas. World's party amabassador Lil Jon (Douglass H.S. - Atlanta '89) left his actual signature, and his signature parting war cry on the wall. (above - Yeahhhhhhh...OK!)
High Fives to Judaism's Justin Levine and the OG for looking after us.

Eyewitness Report: DJ AM Surprises as Jay-Z Reopens the Palladium

TheCHIMP.net hip-hoperative Rich Leist (Muskeegan High School - MI '98, Ironman '08) played "party snitch" atJay-Z's re-baptism of the Hollywood Palladium last night. (Wed 15 October).
DJ AM's first public appearance since tragedy proved to be a muted highlight amongst the crowd of 100% debate skippers and 0% McCain supporters.
While other websites import street thugs, we are happy to have Ironmen who could kick thier ass on the street and on the sheet. Read the full review below:

"Doors that were scheduled to open at 8 opened at 6. The energy in the air was unbelievable. It was the rebirth of music in Hollywood. Cops out in full force keeping a watchful eye on the cleanest looking hip hop heads who would pay Minimum $150 per ticket. I heard that 2 tickets went for $700 at the car wash across the street. The crowd was filled with guys who are the “Turtles” of their entourage. The show was filled with all races. A united hip hop front. There were no Celebs spotted from my view point but a couple tall guys who looked like LA Clippers. Drink prices started were a standard $7.00 for liquor and 12 once beers. $14.00 for doubles and 24 ounce beers.

The show was opened by DJ EVER from Power 106. His set had to have gone on for over an hour. The crowd was starting to get ornery as the body heat of 4000 people began to over power the central air system of the NEW HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM. At around 9:45 JAY- Z took the stage and the crowd went bananas. The smoke, not from fog machines, came billowing out of every nook and cranny of the new venue. The Hollywood Palladium was officially christened. Jay opened with “Takeover.” As expected every song was a hit that crowd could bounce too. Jay-Z told the crowd what on honor it was to open the new PALLADIUM and how Frank Sinatra was the last artist to open the Venue. He then Declared “Ole Brown Eyes” is in the building.

I knew going into the show that there would be a political undertone, but I did not think that the whole show would be political rally. I am all about this political election and I came to a hip hop show to get my mind off all the shit that is going on in the world, but this show was far from that.
I am slightly disappointed that this was the case, but I do hope some of my ticket money is going to the Obama campaign. One great intro he did have was saying McCain should follow this advice and when it comes to his running mate, “home girl.... You know, You betcha! If you having girl problems I feel bad for you son. I got 99 problems but a bitch ain’t one!” If there was a McCain supporter in the building they kept their right to voice their opinion silent.

Before the show the internet was buzzing with all the special guests that were going to be there. Lil Wayne, Kanye, Beyonce, T.I.......... Most of these rumors stemmed from Craigslist and people trying to scalp their tickets for ridiculous prices. The only guest to come on for one number was T.I.. They rocked a couple of verses of “Swagger Like Us.” I know that Kanye is in town because he is finishing his mix of his new album. I was surprised not to see him at the show. DJ AM was part of the show, but nothing more than a band member. DJ AM was on stage the whole show but never got a chance to show off. Jay did take time to acknowledge him, the tragedy that took place and send his thoughts to the victims. Jay at one point got behind DJ AM’s rig and play some song snippets on his own. It made me think that DJ AM must still be hurting and might be unable to spin the way he did before the accident.

The overall set was short. The show started at 9:45 and ended at 11ish.

All in all it was Jay-Z show that was spectacular to be apart of. Despite what VIBE magazine thinks, Jay- Z is the best alive hip hop artist. He knows how to work a crowd and make his shows grand. Every lyric is clear and he makes you appreciate the art that is Hip Hop.

Hova left the stage be saying, “This was a historic night for me. Hope it was a historic night for Y’all.” and for me it was.

The Rock is in the building
Rich

Friday Night Peach Pit - The Kress

Annalynne McCord (Homeschooled '05) is on 90210, she's on the cover of a free magazine handed out in pizza places and coffee shops, and she celebrated both at The Kress tonight (Fri 1o Oct) . The whole school was there!
McCord's schoolmate, varsity kickball captain Ryan Eggold (Santa Margarita Catholic H.S. - CA '02, USC '06) arrived early.
West Beverly lacrosse player Kellan Lutz (Twilight '08) arrived later (above left).
Oddly, both party sponsor LA Direct (left), which is the size of a paperback book, and its full size competitor 944, share the same tag line "Fashion, Entertainment, Lifestyle ...handed out free everywhere".

Arquette Offspring Vote for Fashion Over Politics

Rosanna Arquette (Desperately Seeking Susan '85, Pulp Fiction '94) right, Shiva Rose (Mrs. McDermott '06) left, and a bunch of debate-skippers overcompensating by sporting Obama T-shirts at the Barron Duquette launch at Fred Segal last night (8 October)

OK Magazine's Brenna Egan and Jon Warech - took a bunch of bad photos,so here's a drink of DeLeon Tequila that we drank instead of being fashionable.

One Sunset Turns One with a Celebrity Circus

Now that it's October, Olympians taste like stale Borat. Thus, Boston based USA Gymnastics champ Alicia Sacramone (Winchester H.S. - MA '06, Brown '10) turning up at One Sunset's 1st Birthday party last night (Thurs 3 October) raised a few question marks.
Remember her fling with Red Sox shortstop Jed Lowrie (Stanford '05), reported last month by Boston gossip royalty, the Inside Track? Who is in L.A. playing against the Angels in the playoffs? Related? (See, there are a lot of question marks.)
She might have been copying fellow party goer Lauren Conrad, who made it safe to date a baseball player earlier this year. As for Alicia, TMZ didn't harass her, as much as confuse her. (click the image above) While most celebrities hide or do a "walk and talk" at best, Alicia acted like a street reporter waiting for a cue, standing on her mark and patiently waiting for the camera man to light her and begin the sidewalk press conference. Weird.
The theme party itself - the Moulin Rouge goes to a dollhouse circus on uppers - rocked. A killer candy bar, David Arquette, unlimited bar, two life size Raggedy Anns having a pillow fight with cotton candy and two Dancing with the Stars stars- Kim Kardashian and Lance Bass.
Congrats to FoTCn Emily Olsen and the One Group (STK, Coco DeVille, Tenjune) on blowing out a candle, a milestone that few LA hotspots achieve.

Tony Parker Hosts at Eva's Restaurant - EA NBA Live 2009 Game Launch

He's on the cover of the game, and he was celebrating at his wife's restaurant, Beso last night (Fri 26 Sep).
Tony Parker (Paris Basket Racing '99) and Eva Longoria Parker (Roy Miller H.S. - TX '93, Texas A&M -Kingsville '97). A sarcastic person would say "She's holding the sign too low to block a non existent baby bump."

TV fans say there are two types of people: LOST people and "Heroes" People. Superheroes must love basketball because the party VIPs read like an NBC call sheet.
Greg Grunberg, center (The pilot on the LOST pilot '04, Heroes 'current) should be indecisive on which type of fan he is. Hero castmate Sendhil Ramamurthy, right (Keystone School, San Antonio '91) is equally puzzled.
Rapper Young Dre the Truth loves EA games as much as he loves L.A, having writen a song for Madden NFL '09.
The game has all kinds of wizzbats and ding-dangs called "Dynamic DNA" that updates throughout the year with the exact statistical data that real NBA teams get. The analogy applies -- Google Android Phone: Pony Express as NBA Live 2009: "Double Dribble".

This Guy is a Beverly Hills Drug Dealer

There was nothing to write about at the Reality Awards after party, so instead decided to cover Hollywood Vodka QueenTM Reese Flener's (Pink Vodka 'current) birthday party at Bar Lubitsch.
Jon Warech (OK Magazine), Bobby Gold (90210), Erin Einhorn (UFlorida '02), and Reese

There we met a spicoli look-alike named Bobby Gold, who may or not be a drug dealer (probably not), but he plays one on TV. If you've been staying home on Tuesday nights, this is the "drug dealer" on the new 90210. Originally from Long Island, he scored the role in his first year in LA, and still works for P.I.N.K. vodka.

Tattle tale says: "They were not drinking p.i.n.k. vodka at their table.

UPDATE: Freelance fact checkers (commenters, click below) confirm that a bottle of P.I.N.K was drained and polished before my arrival. Nice work.

Hollywood Drinks Hennessey - If You Bribe us with LL Cool J and Ne Yo

Hennessey is a cognac. It is a type of brandy, produced in a special region of france. No, this is not from Wikipedia. We paid $465 to learn this a few years ago. You probably learned that for free from listening to hip hop.

When you rent out the largest behemoth of a club in Hollywood (this exact hour), "The Kress", and invite 866 tastemakers to hold up thier cell phones to take photos of 2 hip hop stars both born "Smith" - James Smith (LL Cool J) and Grammy Winner Shaffer Chimere Smith (Ne-Yo) performing in front of you, should we forgive you for your totalitarian bar regiment of Hennessey only? Is there vodka? "No, we're sponsored by Hennessey".  Can I BUY a vodka for $40? "No, you can have a Hennessey Sidecar".
2 Guys Named Smith
So with gag reflexes intact, we sipped Hennessey Mojitos until we didn't taste it anymore. See corporate america, Hollywood parties work!! You got everyone to drink something, and like it* that they would never ever pay for.
2/3 of the heroes of Hollyscoop.com  - Ani Esmalian and Diana Magpapaian (both UCSB '04) made a rare appearance on the party scene.

Spy photos of a coming attraction. On Sunday night (21 Sep), TV Guide will be throwing the largest post-Emmys party in this very tent on the grounds of the Kress.

*almost puked.

Giftbag Recon: InTouch Weekly Post-VMA Party

By Monday, we mean at any point this week. Why does this heavy giftbag from the InTouch Weekly post-VMA party have a rule that every product must be loaded with sexual overtones of a one night stand?

Vaguely Left to Right. One night stand clues in green.

"Bed Head" Products everywhere. Besides the overall connotations of "bed...er... head", love the appropriately moniker'ed "After Party" pink stick-a-majig as the first item in this after party gift bag. Also, a bottle of red "hook up mousse". I always need "hook up mousse" on Sunday nights.
A folding recipe book of Flor-De-Cana rum cocktail recipes. Get 'em drunk, see what happens!
Kanye West's first novel - a novelty book with garishly displayed trite life advice on each page. Page Pictured: "Life is not what happens, it's 95% How your React". Like, how you react to taking photos??
Also in Kanye's "book", it says "Be leery of the free gift bag." We couldnt make this up.
Bed Head "Pet Head", a favorite of my Penthouse "Pet" Girlfirends.
David Beckham's Norwegian Sex Vitamins, called "Go3"
A big wooden brown dong/drink muddler to help "get'em drunk"
CD from live performers The Veronicas called "Hook It Up"
A sex toy style box with a porno blonde on the cover - that holds a (I'm told) totally expensive and awesome bed head hair straightener.
Birth Control Pamphlet for something called "Yaz". I always thought this Yaz was mood killer birth control enough.
What do fat burger eating teens need more than exercise? A lighter to smoke with.  This Burger King lighter says "Light up your night". Like the Billy Jean video?
"Smooth Sensation" from Nivea.
"Silky Smooth" Dark Chocolate from Dove.
Clarins Paris Gel Countour des Yeux  - "to remove puffiness and dark circles (after a one night stand)"
Magenta business card asking you to send an email to someone for a discount on something
Bed Head Born to Rock clean Wife Beater - throw it at your hook up in the monring as clean clothes
"Post Partum" headline screaming from the cover of the Magazine.

TGI Sunday: MTV VMA Week Over

The Finale - InTouch Weekly VMA Post Party

I'd write a real post but they gave away all the pills that keep you awake, lucid, and boring to Britney tonight for her dead eye'd teleprompter speed-read. So on Monday, I'll just review the gift bag instead.
One sighting: Kid Rock, David Spade, Travis Barker, and Jermaine Dupri shared a couch top to watch Leona Lewis sing in the Chateau Marmont garden. Only Jermaine Dupri "hooted" along with her. Kevin Farley tried to squeeze in too, but his heftiness knocked over a bunch of half full glasses on the shelf behind the sofa on to a bunch of girls behind him.

Gift Bag Review, post sleep.

Verizon Wireless Style Villa - Day 2: Now Gifting Babies

MTV Week, Day 5. Hangover Free

Uncle Perez Hilton played with his nephew Liam today at the Verizon Wireless Style Villa atop the Thompson Hotel today. (Sat 6 Sep) . Parents Tori (West Beverly '93) and Dean supervised.
The three were surprisingly very thick friends....who knew?
Some may say gifting suites are "getting old". Not when they are now gifting LIVE BABIES, even to non celebrities. (see below)

We would show you the rockstar offspring tot inside, but that would violate this sites' "No Weddings - No Babies" policy.
Here, E! Practice Squad player Michael Yo (Yo on E! Radio Show, Daily 10 Sub Co Host) picked up a Verizon Slide phone, which he would not give or sell to me even though I try to make him more famous.

See Photos taken by the professionals: Audrina Patridge, all the 90210 kids, Cris Judd, Rex Lee, and my favorite - Daryl from The Office - over here.

Mondrian & Skybar Return

VMA Week, Night 3:

The iconic Skybar of the Friendster era is back! Emerging from the womb for its relaunch, a special stage covered the pool for a performace by Cat Powers and nicest guy in Hollywood TM Zen Freeman.
Jamie Foxx (Oscar '05) blew off Access Hollywood's repeated requests to talk and hid in cabana bar instead...
so they had to interview yours truly for comments instead.
Goloka Bolte, (left) answers the unasked question, "Can we leer at your cocktail?" Jodi Thomas, and the Mondrian's own Michelle Schoenfleder help model the $14 thirst quenchers given away free in honor of the rebirth.

EA Facebreaker Game Launch: Celebrity Fight Club

Normally, Hollywood fights are held at Les Deux. When it's famous fist throwers, it usually involves Fallen Lawn Boys. Instead, Celeb Fight Club invaded Avalon last night for the launch of EA Games "Facebreaker" game.

A cross town riot at the House of Blues reportedly began when concertgoers learned there was an opening to substitute in for either Heidi Montag or Spencer Pratt in this fight.

Has anyone figured it out yet....WHY?

A lot of blonde, good clean fun meet for the first time: Mary Carey (CA Gov Race '03, Celeb Rehab '08) and Jodie Sweetin (Full House'90s, Reality Show '08). Only one did rehab on TV. Both are amazingly sweet. Literally.

This Man Will Now Slice Your Chest Open

VMA Week, Night 2:
Dr. 90210, Robert Rey (ASU '83, Harvard MBA, Tufts MD '90) has a wicked lot of degrees, a new skin care line, and a party to promote it. He does not have a calendar.

It's His Party, and he'll dress like Diddy if he wants to. Thompson Hotel last night (Wed 3 Sep).

Over on the carpet, even Jon Warech (UFlorida '02, OK Magazine 'current) and lurking photog Vince Flores know you don't wear white after Labor Day.

Let those without fault cast the first snarky internet comment: Gorging on the Bond St. sushi and free champagne in lieu of that fad, "dinner", is the new cool thing to do.

Joe Francis Orders off the Menu at Coco DeVille

What's for dinner? Apparently some girl's face, if you're Joe Francis.(Laguna Beach H.S. '91, USC '95)

The GirlsGoneWild founder "got wild" himself while holding court on the patio of the Tuesday night hotspot last night (2 Sep).  A few eyeballs in our group saw him literally "eat a girls face".  He didnt eat this girl's face.
TheCHIMP.net file photo.

MTV Employees lurking around: Network starlet Tila Tequila (Singapore '81) and her 'Ronson, Courtney Semel took over Francis' table after he left "in a 40 person limo" (his words). Brody Jenner (Hills 'current) stole Fred Durst's headwearand took shots with a dude-bro at the bar.

Manager Rusty Morrone (Bliss '03, Boulevard 3 '06) continues with his face, and class, intact as the rare "solid" in this stormy sea.

It's MTV Week in L.A.

That means a lot of intense award speculation and nervous nominees partying
TheCHIMP.net will provide "spirited" coverage of everything we can sneak in to.
Check the twitter feed often, for sloppy text message updates "on the fly".

Random Thought: Having witnessed the famous kiss from 50ft away inside Radio City Music Hall in 2003, how come nobody remembers Christina Aguilera? Not only was she on stage with them (as was Missy Elliot ??), Christina got Britney's sloppy seconds. The Brit kiss was 1.5 seconds earlier.  I wonder what we'll forget this year...besides everything.

Special Delivery from DJ AM: The Stork

"Mommy, where do babies nightclubs come from?"
"DJ AM puts a Stork in his mouth and flies them in to the Kodak Theatre's doorstep."

In the exponentially short timeline of Hollywood hotspots, just yesterday, Crown Bar was the whitehotspot.

Tonight DJ AM (Spielberg Daughter Bat Mitzvah DJ '98) and partner Loyal Pennings who founded hotspot LAX (Holllywood '05, Vegas '07) open The Stork. Going totally out of the box, they're throwing a big celebrity bash. Pennings' most recent prior invention is a frighteningly effective privacy invasion gadget effective security gizmo .

Large outdoor patio? Wrought iron over the brick privacy wall? (top left) Hmm, reminds us of a certain french themed exterier hotspot that with its huge garden defies all equations of the nightlife deathspiral (Les Deux, bottom left).
TMZ should have the rejections by coffee time tomorrow.

Live on Scene:Madden 2009 Launch Party

All photos actually taken by TheCHIMP.netVerne Troyer (Centreville H.S. - MI '86, Mini Me '97, '99, '03) uses full size controllers.

Even the most successful video game franchise of all time can't keep up with late breaking news. The game's cover hero Brett Farve now sports the WRONG jersey.Nonetheless, this party remains a highlight of every summer and the blowout at sister hotspots STK and CoCo DeVille brought out a pro-bowl of famous fans last night. (Thurs 7 Aug)

Televised Bi-Sexual Tila Tequila arrived with a girl but danced with a boy. Appropriate.

Actual Exchange overheard with Zach Levi: "Hey Zach, what's up with (showing up in) your flip flops and shorts?"
Zach: "I just came from work (NBC's Chuck). Gimme a Break"

The game is 20 years old. This Reebok sneaker is not.

Sal Masakela (Carlsbad H.S. - CA '89, E!'s Daily 10 'current) graciously hosted both Kevin Federline and jilted mother of his children Shar Jackson at his table. These two might have 2 kids togehter, but they avoided each other from 3 feet away. So awkward that even Masakela (above) grimaces in agony. US Weekly watched at my side with rapt attention.

Celebrity Kickball in Malibu

Billed as "The Battle of the Summer". By our count, that would be the 2nd skirmish in that zip code this summer.
Just 7 days ago, I emerged victorious in a croquette tournament while breaking the "tennis whites" dress code on an elite lawn of Nantucket, Mass.

Back in outer space aka the west coast we do more normal stuff, like Saturdays playing Celebrity Kickball in Malibu, courtesy of French Connection. Yes, that is a step and repeat finagled on a baseball backstop. (Click to enlarge)Yes, that is the ,godfather godmother of blogging, a no-more-backfat Perez Hilton. Kudos, mate!
Team Captain Leslie Bibb (St. Gertrude's H.S. - VA '92, Iron Man '08) tends to a bloodied knee. All bleeders got automatic MVP kudos.
Nick Kroll (Best Week Ever 'Current) is awesome at eating watermelon and drinking Newcastles in the outfield. You must get to know him better.'Kicks to Hostess Alle Fister (Pepperdine '04) who could gaze at her alma mater perched across the PCH ...if she wasn't rocking out with a boombox in her face.
As new resident of CW's 90210 Ryan Eggold (West Beverly '10) stepped to the plate, he waived off the suggestions that he is "The new Luke Perry" and "The New Ian Ziering".Jessica Schimmel (Star Magazine ' Current) and Elissa Buchter (Cardozo H.S. - NY, U Miami) are not lost on their way to the Bridgehampton Polo Grounds.

It's been less than 48 hours, and all 4 Chipotle free burrito coupons in the giftbags are DUST. See people, gift bags work.

Ozzy Osbourne Surprise Appearance with Camp Freddy at XGames Party

A few well chronicled passions of this very website unexpectedly collided at ESPN's XGames XIV Concert/Party at the House of Blues last night (Fri 1 August).

Camp Freddy, LOST, and ESPN. There was even some reality millionairres floating around.

All British highlights: Naveen Andrews (Emanuel School - UK '87, Sayid Jarrah Flt 815 '04) jumped up with to rock guitar with Dave Navarro (and later had to self massage his guitar wailing shoulder from rocking out - see photo).

We should have suspected something bigger coming as a non traditional "lead singer rug" lay on the stage all night....a placemat of sorts, on which they served up Ozzy Osbourne (Prince Albert Rd Jr School '50s) to a shocked audience. Even the Prince of Darkness' knees need cushion when rocking.Video of "the reveal" follows.

Live on Scene: Oakley X-Games Kick Off Party

Lil Jon, Host/PR Babe Rembrandt Flores, and Dingo (Unabomber '97)

You are only forgiven for wearing sunglasses in a nightclub on one special night of the year, the Oakley X-Games Kick Off Party. This year's edition - last night (Wed 30 July) @ Keyclub on the Sunset Strip.Samantha Ronson hobo hats are still not forgiven, dude.
Like a fireman, Host Lil John arrived on scene with a hustle...scurried right through the front door, kept walking directly through the crowd to the stage, grabbed the mic without pausing, and introduced the performers before even looking around. Less like a fireman, he later chugged a Patron Silver bottle on stage to fluff the crowd.
In honor of Lil Jon's (Jonathan Mortimer Smith '71, Douglass H.S. - Atlanta '89) rally cry catchphrase"OK!" ....the OK magazine's party patrol of Jon Warech and Ryan Smith made the scene.

Wilmer Valderrama Hosting "Night of Spirits" Benefit for LA Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association - This Saturday

The equation "L.A." + "Weekend" = "Good Clean Fun" doesn't always balance, but please reconsider this upcoming weekend for a worthy cause with outstanding company.

Wilmer Valderrama is hosting this year's "Night of Spirits" benefitting the Los Angeles Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association

Saturday, July 26, 2008

8:00 p.m.

944 Magazine and Alessi Gallery at The Sunset

8560-8570 W. Sunset Blvd.

West Hollywood, CA 90069

Event hostess and FoTCN Jill Wilderman (Young Hollywood.com 'current) says, "My brother was diagnosed at 18 months old and has been confined to a wheelchair from the disease. He is one of the most intelligent and talented people I know, not to mention being a brilliant artist."

Put the tax deductible price of the tickets in perspective of the cost of a controlled substance you're likely to engage in during the weekend anyways, and its an easy call. “We are so thrilled to have Wilmer Valderrama (Point Place H.S. - WI '70s, Fox '03) hosting the event. We know that he will bring out a great 'Young Hollywood' crowd. Pun maybe intended.

Even if your star doesnt shine bright enough to land on their site (yet), you can purchase advance tickets here or by calling (310) 390-6802. Do a mitzvah.

Live On Scene: Rock the Cure All Stars Play for Scott Patterson

Very honored to be included in a special concert for Scott Patterson at the Viper Room on Sunset tonight (Thurs July 17). As the MC said, "Rock the Cure puts its money where its mouth is", and they proved it tonight with a midsummer's all star game of Rock Stars playing cover songs on the Sunset Strip. Drinks and $50 tickets all supported Scott, Camp Freddy tour manager since the beginning.

In addition to the usual guest stars with the band, Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders '80s), Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray '90s), Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver '08), Steven Pearcy (Jane's Addiction '90s), Matt Sorum (Guns N Roses '90s), and Teri Nunn (Top Gun's"You Take My Breath Away'85) rocked the celeb heavy crowd.

Persuaded to support the groundbreaking Cancer Reasearch taking place at the City of Hope hospital, funded by Rock the Cure? please consider a donation.

P.S. The night was not without some XRated controversy. Camp Freddy knew Chrissie Hynde was in the audience and she was reluctant to come on stage. They goaded her on stage, and she dissed the band members because they didn’t know how to play the song she wanted them to play with her(Elvis’ “Can’t Help Falling IN love with you), She said “these guys are not real musicians”. Dave Navarro escalated the sexual tension by saying “Hey Chrissie, I have something you know…” and then he started playing “Brass in Pocket” After “Brass in Pocket”, the band did indeed play “Cant Help” , and Chrissie and Dave started making out during the song. (See above video) After the song, Dave said in to the mic “He Chrissie, how about another kiss” (something like this) and Chrissie answered “I’m better at sucking c**k”). Chrissie kind of pretended to go down on Dave, kneeling in front of him, unbuttoning his pants and sticking her hand inside. Her head was right on his body

UPDATE: Dave Navarro himself (Jane's Addiction '90s, Carmen Electra '03) posted my video above on his personal website. As he is a breakout film director, I feel honored.

Back to Goa: E3 Gamespot Party

When you go to a video game party, you see the back of a lot of people's heads.
We stopped by the GameSpot party at Goa (December'07-April '08) last night (Tues 15 July). Though we dont frequent either establishment, Gamespot is not Gamestop.Everything was "back" oriented. Even Goa itself now makes you enter "through the back"-- hiding the formerly sizeable mob scene out front now fizzled and tucked away in an alley?
It's E3 week in LA, a huge video game convention. To compete/complement the simultaneous ESPY's, its definitely "things that guys do in beer commercials that annoy their onscreen girlfriends" week in LA.

BullRun Car Race Makes Pitstop on Sunset Blvd.

The Bullrun Rally is an annual cross country car race on public roads involving 100 cars, celebrities and a party in a different city every night for a week. "The most glamorous and high profile 'luxury lifestyle' automotive rally - aka an RV convention in a tuxedo - made a pitstop at Sunset Plaza for a 944 hosted party last night (Wednesday, 25 June).

The ubiquitous MTV funded Callum Best abstinence tour survived another night without temptation from this totally natural Sunset Blvd. vignette.

Claudia Lari (Whippany Park H.S. - NJ '95), Bobby Pura (Danbury H.S. - CT '93, Syracuse '97) and Lisa Falcone (Agoura Hills H.S. - CA '9?, 944 Magazine 'current)

A slimmed down Joe Francis (USC '95, Panama City Jailcell '07) and Clifton Collins Jr. (Traffic '00, Star Trek '09) made the scene...that quickly moved to the DJ A.M. / Travis Barker franken-concert at the Roxy.

    Calendar Boxing Babes vs. Abstinence

A gas leak at hotspot The GreenDoor pushed an MTV reality show to an even better location last night. (Thursday 19 June) The untitled show stars noted girl wrangler Callum Best (Lohan '07) and his posse trying out abstinence for 50 days amidst Hollywood temptations. They relocated to once again hotspot Les Deux and found a bunch of model boxers - that fits the bill.

Knockouts Ringleader Parvati Shallow (l), Jon Condon (not a temptress), and Lauren Bergfeld model the July 2009 shot... of Lauren.
Charity boxing hotties "Knockouts for Girls" welcomed the show in to their calendar release party....and ended up on air as temptresses in their natural habitat. Good idea, as KO4G's spokesmodels have proven to be good TV in the past.

After hangining inside for 45 minutes, Louis Carreon and Callum Best shoot "their entrance".

    Celtic Pride in LA

The OONKA watch company gifted $3000 japanese techno harajuku girl watches at the DDClabs store on Melrose last night (Thursday 13 June). Since we didn't qualify, the watch we got was a "Trial Version"...made out of paper with a fake time on it. At least it will tell the correct time twice a day.
The unique flavor of 1981 Brooklyn manifested itself oddly with a disproportionate amount of Celtic Pride following Boston's huge NBA Finals comeback across town at Staples. The event picked up as soon as the game ended.

Scarlett LG TV's - New Hangover Remedy at Pacific Design Center

Dusty, tired, and road weary, the official Coachella after-party for Hollywood came Monday night (28 Apr) at the Pacific Design Center, for the premiere of LG's Scarlet TV series.
Tamie Sheffield (Maxim Hottie '05, Producer'current) and Finland's top design export Haydie Selene (2X Boutiques on Melrose 'current) model the DJ booth.

Wolfgang Puck buffets, a great roof, and free HD TVs for the myriad Maddens, Hiltons, Lohan, Hills'ers, Wilmer's, John Hensely's and our third DJ Steve Aoki set in 3 days. A Monday that should have sucked but didnt.

If you're not in to big free expensive HD's, there are worse ways to crack the crust out of your life on the Monday after Coachella.

Coachella: DJ AM, Aoki, and Masterson at T-Mobile Def Tone Party

After 87 bands & DJ's on Saturday at Coachella (26 Apr), DJ AM, Steve Aoki and DannyMasterson gave everyone's favorite performance of the weekend -- a DJ symphony at the T-Mobile Def Tone After Party.Click photo to enlarge

It's not a real party weekend unless T-Mobile & Brent Bolthouse can adequately strain out the glitteratti from an otherwise mass market demographic.

A sketchy drive through miles of flat dust to a hushed private airport, and a tucked away hangar concealed this desert oasis. The DJ symphony, pioneered with Nicole Khristine's Jewelry event in February, continues to not suck.

April Showers bring Catt Sadler April/May Issue "Flowers"

LA Based Genlux Magazine annointed Catt Sadler (E!'s Daily 10'current) as "Flower Girl" in their April/May issue.
I didn't know which Catt to look at. So Catt pointed at p.34, and said "look".

While we're not sure if you get a crown and sash for that, it does come with a sick 10 page fashion spread, exactly 6.25% of the entire magazine.... and a cool party at Trina Turk (Thursday, 24 Apr)

It was an unchimp-like high fashion crowd. Thankfully old pal, celebrity female DJ Casey Connor (Maxim House DJ '08) was the couture musician and we could sneak in to her booth. The Mag will be on stands until around Memorial Day.

Fred Segal Fun hosted a party for a T-shirt line with words on them. They are totally less funny than these. But Kim and Khloe Kardashian (E! Entertainment media favorites Jill Wilderman (ET '06, Young Hollywood'current) and Michelle Marie (Young Hollywood'current) showed off their new Young Hollywood line of baseball hats...to make you go broke:$80/per. Appropriately on sale only at cool places, like Fred Segal Fun.

Jackie Warner & Reality Friends Rock out for Charity on a Sunday

Wow! A beautiful crowd of mixed West Hollywood awesomeness turned out for a rocking Sunday afternoon on Robertson. The event: Sunstyle Tanning, Jackie Warner (Bravo's Workout 'current) and Reality Cares hosting a charity mixer for Stoked Mentoring, a foundation that does exactly like what the name sounds.Hosts Suzanne and Nicole DeFosset close their eyes and dream of a Jackie Warner sandwich

Showing that reality does indeed care were American Gladiators Romeo "Mayhem" Williams and Don "Wolf" Yates, Nehemiah (Real World Austin '05), the goth couple from Amazing Race ('08), that Asian guy who got voted off SurivorAmazon First ('03). Most excited to see E! Gossip King Marc Malkin and Kevin Todd (That guy who is in the background of every scene of the The Hills '06-current)Doug Donahoe, Dr.Megan Donohue, Ben Russo (Entertainment Fusion Group), Jodi Thomas (Reality Casting Director), & Melissa Rappaport (RappAround PRC)

For those that like a dash of nightclub or Mondrian style with their tanning, Sunstyle Tanning flat out rocks. The place is huge, modern, sparkly, even has a corporate conference room if you want to call a meeting about your tan, a big warehouse event space in the back, and posh Robertson address. Sunset Tan, you may have your own reality show on E!, but this place isnt shoehorned in to a stripmall.

A DJ, free yogurt, cocktails, and lots and lots of waxed chests and bodies. Reality faces all over the place, many of them drinking Lotus Vodka Redbulls and gearing up for an after party at the also packed Abbey. Good thing the local AA meeting is right next door inside the Elks Lounge.

High five and congrats to DuetPR for taking care of us.

Inside Perez Hilton's 30th Birthday Party - The Surprising Thing

Perez telling Spencer and Heidi he's "just doing a job".

Consider this the M.C. Escher post of gossip blogging.... giving coverage to the apotheosis of bloggers. The 2 most popular websites in one place at one time: TMZ founder/boss Harvey Levin joins Perez. The joint gravity opens a blackhole in the gossip universe.

The surprising bit about Perez Hilton's 30th birthday party at the Beverly Wilshire hotel Saturday night (22 Mar), came from the diverse spectrum of attendees: legit talent (Amanda Bynes), tabloid-drones (Spencer/Heidi), and even a 100% woman he has called "90% tranny"(Khloe Kardasian).

Amanda (4-peat winner of Nickelodeon's kid's choice award 2000-04, Hairspray '07) came out of the closet. She told TheCHIMP.net she's been a fan of Perez since day one, “I’m always on his site!” Despite turning 21 last year, Amanda partied late while drinking....Café Bustelo coffee.

Jerry O Connell (Stand By Me '84, NYU'95) joked about "KY" 's ubiquitous sponsorship throughout the event ... Perez shot back, “maybe you should take some home for Rebecca!”. This can't help.

The Pussy Cat Dolls gave a surprise performance. People drank, danced, and talked alot. Then they went home or to after hours parties.

Big ups to Ben Russo, Rembrandt Flores, & the EFG PR team for busting out a Satur
