Special Delivery from DJ AM: The Stork

"Mommy, where do babies nightclubs come from?"
"DJ AM puts a Stork in his mouth and flies them in to the Kodak Theatre's doorstep."

In the exponentially short timeline of Hollywood hotspots, just yesterday, Crown Bar was the whitehotspot.

Tonight DJ AM (Spielberg Daughter Bat Mitzvah DJ '98) and partner Loyal Pennings who founded hotspot LAX (Holllywood '05, Vegas '07) open The Stork. Going totally out of the box, they're throwing a big celebrity bash. Pennings' most recent prior invention is a frighteningly effective privacy invasion gadget effective security gizmo .

Large outdoor patio? Wrought iron over the brick privacy wall? (top left) Hmm, reminds us of a certain french themed exterier hotspot that with its huge garden defies all equations of the nightlife deathspiral (Les Deux, bottom left).
TMZ should have the rejections by coffee time tomorrow.

Chris Masterson, Celebrity Doorman

We haven't seen much of Chris Masterson (Scary Movie 2 '01) since "Malcolm in the Middle" ended in 2006. He surfaced last night at a surprisingly non violent, and surprisingly still open, Shag nightclub.

We caught Chris working the front door himself, including waving pal DJ Steve Aoki to the front quickly. The two retreated inside quickly to catch brother Danny (Roseanne '94, That 70s Show '70s) DJ'ing the secret celeb heavy night, "Club Nuvo".

Wunderkid promoters Lauren Fields (San Clemente H.S. - CA '06, LMU '10), Sebastien Letellier (Montclair Prep - CA '06, LMU '10), Noah Goldman (Campbell Hall H.S. - CA '06, Cal State Northridge '10), and Becca Wright (Campbell Hall - CA '07, FIDM '11),

Indie/Coachella faves MGMT...came just for the giftbags?

(After) Concert at Central-Parc

It's not NYC, but now LA has its own Central-Parc. Brought to you by hospitality honcho Shereen Arazm's 2007 hit streak.

This year alone, her boutique nightclub SHAG turned 5, restaurant/celebrity-green-room Parc debuted in March, and now its sister outlet, ultra lounge Central got a virtual red carpet premiere last night (Sat. 12.8). We are just grateful to be invited to watch the ride.

Central, taking over the old Rokbar space on Las Palmas, continues the theme of the block: Central - Parc. The clever theme drew these people on opening night:

John Mayer (Center for Japanese Studies '95), hosted the opening as his official concert after party.

His ex's lil sister, Ashlee Simpson (lip syncer '04, nose transplant recipient '06), may or may not have been spying on him.

Among the salad of famous faces in attendance -- U.S. Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) -- were not the Mother and Daughter team you would expect: Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore followed John over from his concert to the Parc side while daughter Rumer Willis (Demi's Vag '88), partied under the same roof at Central. Very Dina Lohan.

Note: Above Rumer-Lindsay file photo dug up for polemics only. No actual Lohan species was in sight.

Who Was Out Where (Weekend Wrap 11.18.07)

Kind of a different post, but figured "If I lost my phone today and someone read my text messages, this is what they would learn about who was out where this weekend". No. I was at almost none of these.

South Beach: Kim Kardashian hosting a party at The Fifth on Friday night. A local says “it’s wicked urban in there”.

Hollywood Blvd: Michael Copon (Deep Creek H.S. Virginia ’00, One Tree Hill ’05) ignores Bella, the Les Deux guys’ Italian eatery he “part owns” of to bring an 8 pack of girls to the newly minted VICE on Hollywood Blvd. A Chimp.net big mouth reports “Didn’t have a single guy with him. All girls. All night.”

Vegas: Opening of the Planet Hollywood Resort (formerly Aladdin). A Chimp.net bigmouth reports: "Howie D. (Backstreet Boys ’99, Bachelor ’07) organized a party bus from Hollywood to Vegas for Friday afternoon. Was supposed to be the whole band." Only A.J. Mclean (Rehab ’03) showed up for the bus. Nick Carter and Brian Litrell took a plane and said “meet you there”.While you were living your life for the past 4 years, the 5th member dropped out of the band. (Kevin Richardson). Cooler? Eva Longoria (Roy Miller H.S., (TX), Texas A&M-Kingsville) DJ'ing at PURE on Saturday.
